Rimedo Design is a design studio in Leipzig that developes innovative products with a natural based solution. It is found by product designer Clara Fernau who studied at KHH Burg Giebichenstein. My ambition is to turn natural materials into design objects that fulfill the requirements of todays products in an aesthetical way.
Rimedo means resource in the international language Esperanto. Rimedo stands for the soil where our materials for living and eating are formed and where they „end“.
My goal is to design aesthetic objects for everyday life that can be degraded after usage. These modern and hollistic design objects follow the principles of the circular economy and benefit our soil instead of damaging it. New materials contain new options and solutions: the manufacturing process is easier or it has a better performance than common material or it can even repair itself, depending on the material that is used. I am a huge fan of growing design and the possibilities of biodesign.
